Fayette Completes Doubleheader Sweep with 5-2 Win Over Manor
Penn State Fayette capped off a dominant day on the road with a 5-2 victory over Manor College on March 20, securing a doubleheader sweep to open their six-game road trip.
Fayette struck early, plating two runs in the opening inning to set the tone. After a quiet second, they added three more runs in the third to build a 5-0 lead they would not relinquish.
Despite finishing with just four hits, Fayette made the most of their opportunities, drawing four walks and taking advantage of three Manor errors. Connor Perry reached base three times, scored a run, and stole two bases to spark the offense. Brogan Meighen delivered a big performance at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI, while Frank Macioce added a run-scoring hit.
On the mound, Ashton Ray was in control, tossing a complete four innings while allowing just two runs on four hits. He struck out seven to earn his first win of the season.
Defensively, Fayette limited damage late, holding Manor to just two runs across the final innings to secure the win.
With the sweep, Penn State Fayette improves to 2-10 on the season and builds momentum heading into the remainder of their road trip, which includes matchups against Bucks County Community College and Central Penn.
