Lemont Furnace, PA – The Roaring Lions Volleyball team had a full weekend of PSUAC match-ups. On the final day of September, Penn State Fayette took on Penn State York and Penn State Mont Alto. On the first day of October, the Roaring Lions finished off the weekend against Penn State Brandywine and Penn State Schuylkill.
On Saturday, the Roaring Lions defeated Penn State York in the first match at 12:00 PM. The sets were 25-11, 25-0 and 25-8. Freshman Alex Muccioli served a 25-0 set for the Roaring Lions. This was the second time in two years where this has happened. Morgan Pytlak had 11 kills and Siteri Tale had 10 kills. Machaela Hall had 21 assists during this match-up. Following the victory from Penn State York, the Roaring Lions would face off against Penn State Mont Alto. They were defeated in this game, but the Roaring Lions did not go down without a fight. They were defeated in 5 sets. The sets went 25-21 and 29-27 for Mont Alto, 26-24 and 25-19 for Fayette and the final set was 16-14 in favor of Mont Alto.
On Sunday, the Roaring Lions would take on Penn State Brandywine in the first game of the day. They were defeated by Brandywine, 3-0. The sets went 25-10, 25-19 and 26-16. Siteri Tale tallied 7 kills and 10 digs during this match. Morgan Pytlak had 8 digs and Kyonte Martin had 7 digs. The final match-up took place at 2:00 against Penn State Schuylkill. The Roaring Lions were victorious and shutout Penn State Schuylkill. The sets for the Roaring Lions were 25-15, 25-21 and 25-11. Tale tallied 14 kills. Morgan Pytlak had 6 kills and 11 digs and Hannah Lipniskis had 6 kills. Hall had 24 assists and Chanel Porter had 8 digs.
This week, the Roaring Lions will travel to Penn State Beaver on Tuesday, October 3rd in another PSUAC match-up. This game is set to begin at 7:00 PM.
