Fayette Responds with Statement Win Over Beaver, 9–3
The Penn State Fayette baseball team bounced back in impressive fashion, defeating Penn State Beaver 9–3 at the Eberly Campus.
After dropping the opening game of the doubleheader, Fayette showed resilience and offensive firepower in game two, collecting 11 hits and scoring in five of six innings.
Fayette wasted little time getting on the board, plating a run in the first inning before adding another in the second. The Lions continued their steady production in the third, highlighted by a solo home run from James Knapton to regain momentum.
The game turned decisively in the fifth inning when Fayette broke things open with a three-run frame. Timely hitting from Frank Macioce and productive at-bats throughout the lineup helped extend the lead. Fayette added three more runs in the sixth to put the game out of reach.
Knapton led the offensive charge, going 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs, while Connor Perry added two hits, two runs, and an RBI. Lucas Vilchez also contributed a strong performance at the plate with two hits and an RBI, and Remington Lessman scored twice and reached base three times.
On the mound, Brogan Meighen delivered a complete game performance, allowing just three runs (two earned) on eight hits while not issuing a walk. His efficiency and control helped Fayette maintain command throughout the contest.
Fayette also applied pressure on the basepaths, recording multiple stolen bases and capitalizing on key opportunities to build momentum.
The victory showcased Fayette's ability to respond, execute offensively, and get a strong all-around performance as they split the doubleheader.
