Fayette Looks Ahead After Game Two Setback
Penn State Fayette Falls in Game Two to Christendom College at Mylan Park
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — In the second game of Opening Day on February 28, 2026, Penn State Fayette dropped a 15–3 decision to Christendom College at Mylan Park.
Christendom set the tone early, scoring six runs in the top of the first inning and adding six more in the third to build a commanding lead. The visitors finished with 15 runs on 14 hits, capitalizing on defensive miscues by the Roaring Lions.
Fayette was limited to six hits but showed flashes offensively. Alex Weber led the way with a 2-for-2 performance and a stolen base. Hunter Smiley drove in two runs, while AJ Segarra added an RBI. The Roaring Lions scored once in the third inning and added two more in the fifth to close out the scoring.
On the mound, Brandon Bieler took the loss after starting the contest. Josh Vacha, Ashton Ray, and Brogan Meighen combined in relief efforts. Christendom's Gus Coleman earned the win, pitching a complete five innings while allowing three runs—none earned—and striking out six.
Despite the setback, Penn State Fayette gained valuable experience on Opening Day and will look to regroup as they continue their early-season schedule.
