Fayette Battles, Falls to DuBois at Home
Penn State Fayette dropped a home matchup to Penn State DuBois, 69–34, on Saturday afternoon at the Community Center in Lemont Furnace.
Du Bois set the tone early, jumping out to a 21–6 lead after the first quarter and maintaining control throughout the contest. Fayette worked to settle in offensively in the second period but went into halftime trailing 39–15 as Du Bois capitalized on defensive pressure and second-chance opportunities.
Amari Wilkes led Fayette with 10 points and seven rebounds while Heaven Grumm also finished in double figures with 10 points. Takiah Cheathon contributed on both ends of the floor, recording four steals to go along with five rebounds. Geelece Ingram added energy defensively, finishing with two steals.
Despite continued effort on the defensive end, Fayette struggled to find consistency shooting the ball, finishing 15-of-53 from the field and 1-of-21 from three-point range. Du Bois controlled the glass, outrebounding Fayette 49–28, which helped limit second-half momentum.
Fayette continued to compete through all four quarters and will look to build off the defensive intensity and effort as the team prepares for its next conference matchup.
