Fayette Battles on the Road, Falls 55–48 at Miami-Middletown
Middletown, Ohio – The Penn State Fayette women's basketball team battled tough on the road Tuesday night but came up short in a 55–48 loss to Miami-Middletown in non-conference play.
Savannah Walls paced Fayette with a double-double, finishing with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Takiah Cheathon matched her with another double-double performance of 12 points and 15 rebounds. Heaven Grumm added 10 points and 8 rebounds, and Amari Wilkes contributed 5 points and 8 rebounds off the bench.
Fayette dominated the glass, outrebounding Miami-Middletown 53–41, including 16 offensive rebounds, but struggled from the field, shooting 30.8% overall and 18.2% from beyond the arc.
Miami-Middletown was led by Taryn Dewberry with 17 points, while Amani Mansoor scored 13 and Akhira Muhammed added 10 points and 9 rebounds.
Penn State Fayette (0–1) will look to regroup when they return home for their next contest against [insert next opponent if known].
