Roaring Lions Golf Finishes Fifth at New Ken
Freshman Eric Harrer finished three shots off the winning score, leading the Roaring Lions to their fifth place finish.

SPRING CHURCH, Pa. - Freshman Eric Harrer (Mount Pleasant, Pa.) shot a career-best 82, and finished three shots off the lead in the Penn State New Kensington Invitational at the Links at Spring Church on Tuesday. Harrer led the Roaring Lions, who finished fifth, for the second straight tournament.
Freshman Shelby Dziak (Eighty Four, Pa.) and sophomore Tyler Broadwater (Mill Run, Pa.) each shot 96 for Fayette, and senior Shawn Nicholson (Connellsville, Pa.) finished with a 98 to round out the Roaring Lions who scored. Junior Matt Colussy (Hickory, Pa.) shot 109 in his first match with Fayette.
Penn College's Dan Kramer, Penn State Mont Alto's Chase King and Penn State New Kensington's Alex Baker each shot 79 to tie for the low individual score.
Penn College won the team portion with a total of 326, finishing one stroke ahead of Mont Alto. New Kensington finished third at 342 and Penn State Greater Allegheny finished nine strokes ahead of the Roaring Lions at 363.
Fayette hosts the Red Poling Invitational on Monday, Oct. 3 at 11:00 a.m. at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort's Mystic Rock Golf Course. The tournament is the make-up date from the original date, postponed on Sept. 7 due to rain.
