Roaring Lions Golf
The Penn State Fayette Roaring Lions golf team continued its record breaking year, finishing second at the Penn State Greater Allegheny Tournament, held September 22 at Butler’s Golf Course, Elizabeth, Pa. The tournament marked the best ever finish for the Roaring Lions, eclipsing the previous best third place finish as hosts of the Red Poling Invitational two weeks earlier.

The Penn State Fayette Roaring Lions golf team continued its record breaking year, finishing second at the Penn State Greater Allegheny Tournament, held September 22 at Butler's Golf Course, Elizabeth, Pa. The tournament marked the best ever finish for the Roaring Lions, eclipsing the previous best third place finish as hosts of the Red Poling Invitational two weeks earlier. >
Sophomore Zack Rockwell again led the Roaring Lions, carding a 74 to finish tied for second with Penn State Mont Alto's Chris Rhein. It was Rockwell's third top-5 finish in as many tournaments. Sophomores Mike Peton and Zach Wolfe each shot 86, while sophomore Cody Ward shot 88 in their best finishes of the year. Mont Alto's Scott Levy won the tournament with a 71.
Fayette's team score of 334 was its best ever, 31 strokes behind team champion Mont Alto (303). The Roaring Lions team score was good enough by 25 strokes over third place finisher Penn State New Kensington (359). Penn State Shenango (375) and host Penn State Greater Allegheny (381) rounded out the team scores.
The Roaring Lions will compete in the PSUAC Championships, held October 11-12 at the Blue and White Courses, University Park, Pa.
