Fayette Completes Regular Season Play With A 73–65 Win at Penn State New Kensington
New Kensington, Pa. – Penn State Fayette rounded off conference play with a 73–65 victory over Penn State New Kensington on February 12.
Fayette carried a slim 35–30 lead into halftime before using efficient second-half offense to secure the eight-point road win. The Roaring Lions shot an impressive 50 percent from the field and knocked down eight three-pointers in the contest.
Kamau Mitchell led the way with 20 points, shooting 8-of-13 from the floor and connecting on four three-pointers. Fayette's bench played a key role, as Josiah McKoy added 17 points, including 6-of-8 from the free-throw line, and Landon Percinsky contributed 15 points on an efficient 6-of-8 shooting performance.
In addition to his scoring, Jaylen Judge filled the stat sheet with six points, five rebounds, and five assists, while John Osuji controlled the glass with a team-high eight rebounds.
Defensively, Fayette limited New Kensington to 39.7 percent shooting and just 22.2 percent from beyond the arc. Despite 21 points from Jadyn Benson and 14 from Keith Rockmore Jr., Fayette maintained composure down the stretch to close out the conference road win.
The team got #1 seed in the west and will host on Tuesday.
