Fayette Shows Resilience, Drops Tight OT Contest at Beaver
Beaver, Pa. – Penn State Fayette pushed Penn State Beaver to the limit on Monday afternoon, but ultimately came up short in a hard-fought 66–62 overtime loss on February 9.
The Roaring Lions came out strong and stayed competitive throughout regulation, trailing just 31–30 at halftime after an evenly played opening period. Fayette continued to battle in the second half, matching Beaver shot for shot and forcing overtime after the teams finished regulation tied at 55.
In the extra period, Beaver was able to capitalize at the free-throw line and convert key possessions, edging Fayette 11–7 in overtime to secure the win.
Fayette was led by Josiah McKoy, who provided a spark off the bench with a team-high 15 points, shooting 5-of-8 from the field. John Osuji added a strong interior presence, finishing with 13 points and eight rebounds, while Landon Percinsky chipped in 11 points.
On the glass, Jahiem Hinton and Jaylen Judge anchored the effort, combining for 28 rebounds, with Hinton recording a double-double with 16 boards.
Despite holding Beaver to 42 percent shooting, Fayette struggled from beyond the arc, finishing 2-of-16 from three-point range. The Roaring Lions forced a tight contest through defensive pressure and rebounding, but Beaver's late-game execution proved to be the difference.
Penn State Fayette moves to 10–9 overall (10–5 conference) and will look to bounce back as conference play continues.
