Opening 2026 PSUAC Win
Penn State Fayette earned a hard-fought 92–85 PSUAC victory over Penn State Shenango on Tuesday night at the Lemont Furnace Community Center, pulling away in the second half after a tightly contested opening 20 minutes.
The Lions trailed by just one point at the break, 43–42, before turning up the intensity on both ends of the floor. Fayette outscored Shenango 50–42 in the second half, using balanced scoring and strong work on the glass to secure the win.
Kamau Mitchell led the way for Fayette with 18 points in just 14 minutes, knocking down four three-pointers and shooting an efficient 6-for-9 from the field. Zachary Hill added 14 points on an impressive 4-for-5 shooting from beyond the arc, while John Osuji provided a dominant presence inside with 15 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Noah Payne chipped in 11 points off the bench, and Jesse Lawson Jr. contributed 10 points and four assists.
Fayette's depth proved to be a key factor, as the bench accounted for significant scoring and energy throughout the second half. Defensively, the Roaring Lions forced 14 Shenango turnovers and finished with 11 steals, helping to slow down a Shenango offense led by Kevon Washington and Izzy Santiago.
