MBB wins second straight
Monaca, PA - The PSU Fayette men's basketball team picked up its second straight PSUAC win with a 69-65 win at PSU Beaver Monday night.
Tavian Mozie (McClellandtown, PA/Albert Gallatin HS) led Fayette (7-14, 7-8) with 16 points, Dominic Boring (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster HS) added 14 and London Hoxie (Menifee, CA/Paloma HS) had 13 to pace Fayette, who shot 45.5% (25-55) from the field and 40.9% (9-22) from beyond the arc.
Beaver (12-7, 8-5) jumped out to a 10-0 lead before Iman Young (Silver Springs, MD/West Potomac HS) scored for Fayette on a dunk with 15:15 to play in the first half.
Fayette trailed by 17, 23-6, with 8:48 to go in the half, but it closed the half on a 30-12 run to take a 36-35 lead at the half.
In the second half, Fayette opened on a 6-0 run and opened its biggest lead at 11 points, 59-48, with 8:28 to play when Marvin Sidon (Lahaina, HI/Lahainaluna HS) made a layup.
Beaver, would get no closer than three points the rest of the game, was led by Jeremy Redwine with 19 points.
Fayette is at PSU New Kensington Wednesday for an 8:00 p.m. start.
