Penn State Fayette had trouble keeping up with PSU Shenango in a 13-2 loss on Saturday at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus.
PSU Shenango opened the scoring in the first after Malley singled, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the first inning, Penn State Fayette went back into the lead after Knapton singled down the left field line, and Weber singled to left field, each scoring one run.
PSU Shenango took the lead in the top of the fourth inning after Penn State Fayette committed an error, Quahliero singled to right field, and Fornataro singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.
Houk earned the win for PSU Shenango. The starter gave up five hits and two runs over six and one-third innings, striking out three and walking two. Lessman took the loss for Penn State Fayette. The hurler went six innings, allowing nine runs (five earned) on 14 hits, striking out one and walking three.
Perry set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Penn State Fayette with two hits in four at bats. Knapton and Weber were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Penn State Fayette.
