Fayette Drops Contest to Kent State Tuscarawas Despite Late Push
Penn State Fayette Falls to Kent State University at Tuscarawas, 7–3
Penn State Fayette dropped a 7–3 decision to Kent State Tuscarawas on March 7, 2026, despite outhitting the visitors 8–7.
Kent State Tuscarawas took control early, scoring four runs in the opening inning and adding single runs in the second and third to build a 6–0 advantage. Fayette responded in the fourth inning when Frank Macioce delivered a two-run double to bring home Remington Lessman and AJ Segarra. The offense added another run in the fifth, as Lessman singled to score Alex Weber and cut the deficit to 6–3.
However, Kent State Tuscarawas added an insurance run in the sixth and held Fayette scoreless over the final two innings to secure the win.
Fayette collected eight hits on the day, led by Weber, Lessman, and Segarra with two hits apiece. Macioce drove in two runs with his double, while Lessman added an RBI.
On the mound, Brandon Bieler took the loss after allowing six runs (four earned) over two innings of work. Segarra provided a strong relief effort, pitching five innings and allowing just one run while striking out four.
Despite the loss, Fayette showed resilience by battling back after an early deficit and will look to build momentum moving forward in its season.
