Lemont Furnace, Pa - Trevor Stewart, a Brownsville Area High School graduate, has committed to furthering his academic and athletic career as a Nittany Lion of Penn State Fayette. During his time at Brownsville High School, Stewart earned All-County in both baseball and soccer.
Stewart will provide depth at both short stop and the pitching rotation. In his senior year, he recorded a 3.23 ERA in 7 appearances. In that time, he tallied 17.1 innings pitched, allowed 18 hits, only 8 earned runs, and had 11 strikeouts. Not only does Stewart bring defense to the program, but a lot of offense as well. His 2017-2018 consisted of a .353 batting average on 68 at bats. In those 68 at bats, Stewart had 24 hits, 29 runs, 14 RBIs, 5 doubles, and a triple.
Stewart plans to make new connections and memories during his time at Penn State Fayette. He expresses gratitude to the people in his life that helped him get to where he is today. He cites his family as a major part of his success, but his father has been one of his greatest influences and motivators in bettering himself. Lastly, Stewart's eagerness and excitement for the upcoming year has motivated him to get develop each day towards a hopeful conference and national championship.
